Individual Awards

Triple Crown Award

Any member receiving 3 or more education awards between April 1 – Sept 30 or Oct 1 – March 30 will be recognized at the Fall or Spring Conference respectively and be awarded the Triple Crown.

DTM Ceremony

Members achieving a Distinguished Toastmaster designation will be recognized at the District conference after receiving the award.  It’s our honor to line up the existing District DTM recipients and welcome you to the group with a DTM medal.

Education Award Incentive

Each time a District 63 member receives an education award, they will be entered into a drawing to receive a fabulous award from the District.  There will be a drawing at both the Fall and Spring Conference.

Earline Kelso Award

This award is presented at the Fall Conference to the individual that completed the most education awards in the previous Toastmasters year.  Earline is a Past District Governor that emphasized the importance of the education system and thus this award was created in her honor.

Paul Fee Award

This award is presented at the Spring Conference in memory of Past District 63 Public Relations Officer Paul Fee, ATMB.  This award recognizes one Toastmaster whose dedication, commitment, and effort make a noteworthy contribution toward achieving the District Mission through different publicity and promotion efforts.

Acorn Award

Just as an acorn is a seed, inviting members to attend a Toastmasters meeting is planting a seed as well.  Invite 25 people to attend a meeting, fill out an acorn award sheet with the names of the invitees, and submit the completed sheet to the Lt. Governor of Marketing.  You will be acknowledged at the next District Conference and receive an Acorn Award.

Sponsor 3 New Members

Did you know that on membership applications there is a section for sponsorship information?  If you helped get someone to join Toastmasters, you can get credit and possibly an award but you have to get this section of the application filled out so it can be tracked.  Sponsor 3 new members and you’ll receive a ribbon from the District.

 Sponsor 5 New Members

Did you know that on membership applications there is a section for sponsorship information?  If you helped get someone to join Toastmasters, you can get credit and possibly an award but you have to get this section of the application filled out so it can be tracked.  For sponsoring 5 new members you’ll receive a pin from Toastmasters International and a pocket sized portfolio from the District.

Sponsor 10 New Members

For sponsoring 10 new members you’ll receive a pin from Toastmasters International and a full-sized zippered portfolio from the District.

Sponsor 15 New Members

Did you know that on membership applications there is a section for sponsorship information?  If you helped get someone to join Toastmasters, you can get credit and possibly an award but you have to get this section of the application filled out so it can be tracked.  For sponsoring 15 new members you’ll receive a discount code from Toastmasters International for 25% off your next order from their store and a $50 TI gift certificate from the District.

Star Performer Award

This is awarded to Club Presidents if their club is Distinguished or better.  It is awarded to Area Governors if their Area is Distinguished or better.  It is awarded to Division Governors if their Division is Distinguished or better.

Area Governor of the Year

The Area Governor of the Year award recognizes one Area Governor whose dedication, commitment, and Area team significantly contributed towards achieving the District’s mission.

Division Governor of the Year

The Division Governor of the Year award recognizes one Division Governor whose dedication, commitment, and efforts significantly contributed towards achieving the District’s mission.

Toastmaster of the Year

The Toastmaster of the Year award recognizes one Toastmaster who makes a significant contribution towards the goals and mission of the District.

Club Awards

5-Star Award

Clubs achieving 5 or more of the first 8 Distinguished Club Program (DCP) points by the Spring Conference will be awarded a patch for their club banner.

10-Star Award

Clubs achieving all 10 of the Distinguished Club Program (DCP) points by the Spring Conference will be awarded a patch for their club banner.

Herman Thompson Award

The award is given to the club that exhibits exceptional service to its members and to the district.  The purpose of this award is to encourage club growth by acknowledging efforts by a single club in these areas:  Club atmosphere, District involvement, and Beyond the Club activities.

Sapling Award

When your club achieves more than 4 CC’s in a Toastmasters year or more than 2 AC’s; more than 2 leadership awards; or more than 8 new members – you qualify for a single Sapling Award.  If your club achieves 2 of these goals – you qualify for a double Sapling Award.  If your club achieves all 3 of these goals – you qualify for a triple Sapling Award.

Public Relations Award

The District Public Relations Officer (PRO) awards clubs who participate in at least four of the eight areas of public relations.  Clubs achieving this goal will receive recognition.  The eight areas are:  3 club newsletters, Public Service Announcement, Feature Article Published, Publicity Plan submitted for the year, Press Release, New Web Page or 3 updates to an existing Club Website, Guest Package, Table Top Display.  Submissions for this award are due to the PRO by March 15th and this is awarded at the Spring Conference.

Newsletter Award

Does your Club, Area, and/or Division have a newsletter?  If so, you could win the annual District Newsletter Contest.  All you have to do is email a copy of your newsletter to the District PRO by March 15th.  This is awarded at the Spring Conference.

Harvest Your Members

Clubs that renew or increase the number of paid members, calculated on the base membership July 1st, and pay the dues by October 1st will receive a club banner ribbon from the District.

Smedley Award

Program Dates: August 1 – September 30
It all began in 1924. Ralph Smedley invited a few men to meet in the Santa Ana, California YMCA where he conducted the first meeting of what would eventually evolve into Toastmasters International. One person initiated a program that would go on to affect millions of people. In his honor, can your club add five new, dual, or reinstated members between August 1 and September 30? By doing so you’ll qualify to receive a “Smedley Award” ribbon to display on your club’s banner. Effective July 1, 2009, in addition to the ribbon, qualifying clubs will also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order.

Miracle on 63rd Award

Program Dates: November 1 – December 31
This is a District 63 specific award in honor of our District number. Can your club add five new, dual, or reinstated members between November 1 and December 31? By doing so you’ll qualify to receive an award from the District.

Talk Up Toastmasters!

Program Dates: February 1 – March 31
Toastmasters love to talk!  So take advantage of it. During the “Talk Up Toastmasters!” membership contest, you can encourage your members to invite guests to a special meeting where regular procedures are augmented by a discussion of Toastmasters’ many benefits. Add five new, dual or reinstated members to your roster between February 1 and March 31 to receive a special “Talk up Toastmasters!” ribbon to display on your club’s banner. Effective July 1, 2009, in addition to the ribbon, qualifying clubs will also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order.

Beat the Clock

Program Dates: May 1 – June 30
Toastmasters are taught to run meetings on time, finish speeches on time, and make membership goals on time. ”Beat the Clock” is about finishing the year on schedule -with a bang! Here’s a wonderful new club goal: Earn the “Beat the Clock” award! Plan a contest in your club to motivate every member to get involved. Clubs adding five new, dual or reinstated members during these two months receive a “Beat the Clock” ribbon to display on the club’s banner. Effective July 1, 2009, in addition to the ribbon, qualifying clubs will also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order.
